Terms of Service

Last updated: August 19, 2026

What Documented is

Documented is a private record-keeping tool that helps you organize, structure, and store personal records related to legal matters. It is designed to support your work with your own legal counsel.

Documented is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice. It does not determine whether your records are admissible, legally sufficient, or appropriate for your specific situation. Your attorney makes those determinations.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be 18 or older to use Documented. You may only use Documented for lawful purposes. You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you create.

Your content

You own your records. We do not claim any rights to your matter content. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring your records are factual and that your use of the service complies with applicable law, including any court orders governing your matter.

Acceptable use

You may not use Documented to harass, stalk, or intimidate any person. You may not use Documented to create false records or fabricate evidence. You may not attempt to access another user's account or records.

Subscription and billing

Free tier features are available at no charge. Paid tiers are billed monthly or annually as selected. You may cancel at any time. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have a billing concern.

Limitation of liability

Documented is provided "as is." We are not liable for how your records are used or interpreted in legal proceedings. Our total liability to you does not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We will notify you by email if we make material changes to these terms. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
